Finding our shooting site at Gweryd can be a little difficult.  Usually shooters pop the postcode of their intended destination into the satnav and have no problems.  We have found that with our site, using the satnav by postcode will EVENTUALLY get you their but only after a quick tour of Flintshire.  We would recommend therefore that you take one of two main routes and use the satnav when you get closer.   Travelling via Chester or Mold will help you avoid this problem.

My particular favourite route is to use the Chester southerly by-pass (A55) and exit at junction 35.  This also works if coming from Liverpool and the Wirral on the A550 approaching from the opposite direction.

At junction 35 take the A550 towards Wrexham as far as the Penyffordd roundabout where you turn right onto the A5104 signposted for Corwen.  Cross the main Wrexham-Mold road at Pontblyddyn, go through Pontybodkin (be careful of the speed camera here) and pass by Treuddyn.  You can start using the satnav here.    Shortly after passing Treuddyn you must turn right at a crossroads and take the Graianryd road.   Proceed through Graianryd village and take the left turn to Llanarmon-yn-Ial. Go over the bridge and into the village, continue around the church and on for 2 and a half miles until you come to a crossroads. Turn right here signposted Graigfechan and follow the road up the hill and over the top until at the bottom of the downward slope of the hill there is a junction. Take the track that leads off on the right and through the gateway. follow the track until you arrive at the car park on your right.  Booking in is normally done here.

We meet on Sundays and host Club days and competition events at Gweryd.  Please see the club calendar page to find out when these are scheduled to take place.  We welcome new members and coaching is available for novices to help you on your way into HFT.  To join us simply turn up at the ground and speak to any on the committee members below and click here to download our membership pack
